Run 2485
Monday 13th May 2024 at 7 pm
Venue: Minions car park (not the Hurlers) SX262713
Hares: Forest & Rangi
On-Down: Wheal Tor
Run 2485 report by Potbelly

In spite of the previous forty eight hours it was dry, but a lot cooler, when we arrived at Minions for Rangi and Forests hash laid at short notice their second in a month there being no other volunteers as hares. As of yet there is no hare for next week so unless there is a late volunteer there will be no run next week.
At the briefing Forest suggested that if anyone not able to lay runs has contacts to get permissions it would be a great help before giving the run details, a long short sp.it from the start and two more to follow, laid in sawdust, one drop and on and may be a little unclear given the adverse weather when marking the trail.
We set off in different directions across the moor not as dry underfoot as the last few weeks with a number of fallers as there was plenty of mud. B&M followed the trail scrambling over a fast flowing stream and back over in spite of being able to see the longs ahead on an easy path, he’ll learn. With lots of hills an many checks keeping us together we arrived at the cars in just over the hour.
We were welcomed once again by Wheal Tor Hotel with Get One Free standing in as hash cash in the absence of Wigan Whippet also helping with raffle prizes. The RA then awarded down downs to the hares Forest and Rangi, thanks to them, Bronyon as the most spectacular faller, The Bard for taking an early short cut and leading the way back, and when he found himself The Invisible Man awarded himself a down down for 1050 runs. Hornby then awarded The Invisible Man the hash prat shirt for failing to bring it last week prompting The Invisible Man to confess to his criminal past being caught by a speed camera leaving the hash at St Annes Chapel.
The RA informed that Carnage has been to see Walkabout who has been unwell in hospital and is home now.

Run 2484
Monday 6th May 2024 at 6pm
Venue: Cecil Arms, Saltash. PL12 4AR SX416583
Hares: Sundodger and Hide’n Seek
On-Down: Cecil Arms, Saltash. PL12 4AR
Run 2484 report by Potbelly

What a lovely evening, it was like being back in The Algarve with warmth and blue skies, when we gathered at The Cecil Arms most of us at 6:00 but some ( B&M and Spin the Wheel) failed to read the website and arrived at 7:00 to welcome the returning hashers. Little Bo Peep was also reported to have intended to attend phoning to ask for a lift, the call being taken at the Cecil.
Sun Dodger gave the briefing, don’t cross any falses, fat chance of that, two long short splits and laid in sawdust.
We set off around St Stephens before decending on long footpath to Forder before running along the foreshore to Churchtown Farm taking in the viewpoint over Jupiter point before returning to the cars in about an hour.
Back at the Cecil we were able to sit outside and in the pleasant weather and enjoy sausages, chips and bread kindly provided by the landlord. Down downs were awarded to the hares Hide and Seek and Sun Dodger thanks to them the late comers escaping recognition.

There is a shortage of hares at present, fortunately Rangi and Forest have Volunteered for next week but ongoing we are going to have to lay more hashes if we wish to run weekly as there are less people able to lay runs than in the past. Speak to Little Bo Peep or me if you are able help fill in the bald patches.

Run 2482
Monday 22nd April 2024 at 7 pm
Venue:The Crows Nest, Darite. PL14 5JN, SX226343. The pub car park takes 10 cars only but you can park on the road close by.
Hares:Forest and Rangi
On-Down:The Crows Nest. Unfortunately there is no food available after 8 pm.
Run 2482 report by Hornby

Everyone was pleased to see that the rain had stopped for two hashes in a row after mostly running in the mud over the winter (in fact the wettest 18 months since records began 200 years ago). We were certainly going to keep our feet dry as we were doing a second run at higher upon freely draining soils.
After a short briefing from Forest assisted by Rangi, mainly telling us to be quiet round the many ewes and lambs, the pack set off with Eric Big Axe leading us up into the moor under the railway bridge. Although we have run in the area many times, a well-laid run had us fooled (on the long at least), as we seemed to find the many false trails which had been laid. Forest soon shepherded (theme here) us back in the right direction, though. The trail criss-crossed us around the spoil heaps before taking us into the promised fields of ewes and lambs, with a quick view of Gonamena before coming out near the Minions Road.
The pace is usually fairly steady on the first few Monday runs as our bodies get used to running on full stomachs again; not so this week, however, with Eastern Promise and Hide & Seek setting a very strong pace on the longs. All enjoyed the downhill run – indeed Hide & Seek could have been described as racing as she reached the road near the pub, but no-one snitched her up.
It was good to see Rotten Cotton & Foo Foo when we got back to the Crow’s Nest. The former told us all about Mrs Crow, who was the landlady in 1958. Despite the rejoicing for the rain stopping there was quite a bit of grumbling about the cold, with much dithering as to whether the Down-downs would be out with Foo Foo or in with the walkers etc. who were loath to come out. They won out in the end.
To follow the evening’s theme, of course Little Bo Peep needed to join in, giving us a hash maths session on why we need to be laying one run foreach ten we run and that she needed hares from 13th May onwards.
Down-downs were given to the hares, Rangi & Forest and no-one else, so Wigan Whippet had a grin on his face; the RA even had to be reminded to take the Hash Prat T-shirt back with him, as no-one had even managed to qualify for that (a first?). Or was Invisible Man keeping it so that it was awarded on the Algarve trip?
It’s always good to have home-made/home-grown items as raffle prizes, but I was intrigued as to how Forest had grown raspberries and made jam by April up on the moor (2024 was the date on the very professional label).

Other news:
No run on 29th April in L2H3 area.
Hares needed from 13th May.

Run 2481
Monday 15th April 2024 at 7pm
Venue: Kit Hill incline carpark PL17 8HW SX237394
Hares: Potbelly and Withanee
On-Down: Rifle Volunteer, St Anne's Chapel PL18 9HL. Sadly the kitchen closes at 8pm so no food unless you run like the clappers.
Run 2481 report by Potbelly

Being hares for this weeks hash we had to make a couple of stops on the way to check the trail and place the treasure. In the middle car park we encountered Kiss Me, Biggles and Er Indoors (its a known dogging site), in the top car park Ready Mix and Mr Bloom and I hear Gasbag was sighted in the same area in spite of the Web site having a description, grid reference and map.
At the briefing the group was warned that due to very high winds the sawdust shavings may have rearranged themselves since they were put down yesterday, and the possibility of adders.
Inevitably as we started at the bottom of the incline the packs started off uphill with an early split, enjoying “running” in the dry on solid ground and not in two inches of water as we have become accustomed to.
It was nice to hear a cuckoo, several skylarks and a see beautiful sunset, I would like to take some credit for being on the right side of the hill at the right time, but I can’t. The treasure stop on the windswept top of the hill before returning to the cars with a long downhill finish in a little over an hour.
Back at the Rifle Volunteer the RA did his bit awarding down downs to the hares Potbelly and Withane, a delighted Hide and Seek reaching 700 runs and shaming the poor navigation as already mentioned awarding the prat tee shirt to Kiss Me.
Hares are desperately needed as there are only three more runs booked in, please contact Little Bo Peep if you can help.

Run 2480
Monday 8th April 2024 at 7pm
Venue: Lanoy Farm near Coads Green PL15 7LU. Park at SX299778 further along the road from the farm. No dogs please.
Hares: The Bard and Scarlet Moggie
On-Down: The Old School Inn, North Hill PL15 7PG. The hares and Pantyhose will be providing some food in celebration of Paddington's 90th birthday.
Run 2480 run report by Potbelly

Arriving at the venue there were lot of cars full of people sheltering from the awful wet and windy conditions. At the appointed hour everyone emerged cowering in the field while The Bard gave his briefing, two long short splits, a walkers trail, lots of sheep and one gate to climb.
A lot of people started off through serious amounts of mud, the numbers being increased by visiting relatives and a couple of local families. The trail took us through fields, over and under fences, steep slippery banks, through slippery bluebell woods just starting to flower, retuning to the cars after about an hour and ten minutes. On the way round Mr Bloom was spotted resting on a shooting stick – is this going to become a new hash accessory? – and Hornby turned up about two thirds of the way round having arrived very late. It has been a long time since I counted 22 people on the long trail it was good to see especially given the weather conditions.
Back at the Old School Inn we were once again treated to real ales straight from the barrel and a warm welcome.
The RA thanked the landlord and landlady and Grenville (farmer at Lonoy Farm and ex-hasher who had joined us in the pub) welcomed the visitors and the retuning Godmother and Eric Big Axe after they attended the Interhash in New Zealand on their travels.
Down downs were awarded to the hares, thanks to them, at last Godmother for 950 runs and last but not least Paddington who celebrated her 90th birthday in the week. Paddington then treated us to one of her poems on reaching 90 :

You don’t have to do much to reach ninety
You don’t have to be superfit
It doesn’t take much of an effort
To keep walking and running a bit

Of course you must join L2H3
Then you really can’t go wrong
Just stay on your feet as long as you can
And keep shouting on-on on-on!

She then blew out the candles on her birthday cake before cutting it, see pictures, and we enjoyed a buffet courtesy of the Hares and Pantyhose thanks to them and to Withane for decorating the cake.

Run 2479
Sunday 31st March 2024 at 11am
Venue: on the road into Temple, just off the A30 if travelling westbound. SX160740
Hares: Invisible Man and Little Bo Peep
On-Down: London Inn, St Neot PL14 6NA
Run 2479 report by Potbelly

In spite of it being a pleasant dry morning on Bodmin Moor, Easter Sunday took its toll with a reduced attendance of twenty four, including one visitor, arriving for Invisible Man and Little Bo Peep’s first collaboration near Temple.
The briefing given by Invisible Man spoke of dodgy gates, lots of stock, sheep, cows, horses and a fully equipped bull, and there was a treasure stop by a run down building.
Everyone started of in the same direction marked by a very clear arrow (see photo) running on the moor parallel to the A30 for a short distance before a long short split, the long apparently unaccompanied but the hare turned up in a gateway soon afterwards.
We rejoined the shorts and were happily following a well laid trail when the Invisible Man started calling us back but stopped when he realised Scarlet Moggy was on a check and calling us on. The shorts followed him to the treasure stop while the longs did a further loop before reaching the same place for their refreshments. Approaching the treasure stop Sniffer was shouting at the top of her voice for the shorts to regroup so she could take a group photo but she could not make herself heard over the wind so she could only take one of the longs. A quick trot along Colliford Reservoir and then returning to the cars after about and hour and a half.
Back at The London Inn, St Neot, Hornby was RA of the day giving down downs to the hares Invisible Man and Little Bo Peep, thanks to them, Little Bo Peep for reaching 500 runs, Mr Bloom 100 runs and Invisible Man for calling people back when they were on the trail (hash prat tee shirt awarded too).

Hash Cash – has everybody paid up?
Run 2478
Sunday 24th March 2024 at 11am
Venue: Redmoor Farm, Dozmary Pool. PL14 6PY No dogs please. Limited parking so car share where possible please.
Hares: Mystic Meg and Hide’n Seek
On-Down:St Neot Social Club. PL14 6NG
Run 2487 report by Kiss Me

Several of us found it a little tricky to find the venue, the arrow pointing to another farm, but all persevered and assembled in the farmyard in good time and took the opportunity to chat to the farmer and his son. Bronyon even had time for a quick kick around. We were also greeted by a dog which we were grateful had been caged up to protect us.

We had been warned the week before that we should wear wellies as the ground was so wet and many of us chose to, the rest (proper hashers) roughed it in usual attire.

Mystic Meg and Hide’n Seek sent us on our way with a warning that the sawdust may have blown away. The shorts including the hare did have trouble finding the trail at times and were assisted with the longs when they caught up. The ground was soaked in places but was peaty rather than the smelly manurey variety. It was good to have dry feet for a change and we were treated to an unusually dry and sunny day.

Clear skies allowed for some lovely views over the moor and we passed the site of ancient ruins on our way up to the top of the steepest hill. Skylarks could be heard again on a hash this year, verified by Falsie Attenborough and buzzards were seen soaring high above the ground, unfortunately the Hash horn sounded more like a demented duck!

The hash was applauded as a big success by all at St Neot Social Club, and there was definitely NOT too much tarmac.

The RA administered down downs to myself for tripping up in a spectacular way and to Horby. His ‘crime’ was reverse parking with his usual flourish. I think this is the third time he has managed to hit something when parking before the hash. He backed into the dog pen which very nearly led to letting the vicious dog out to see what hashers tasted like, beer probably.

Run 2477
Sunday 17th March 2024 at 11am
Venue: National Trust car park, opposite Frogmore Farm PL23 1NP. SX157516 St Patrick’s Day hash ☘️ a green run! No dogs please.
Hares: Whingeing Pom and Bronyon
On-Down: Pelynt Social Club, Pelynt PL13 2LG
Run 2477 report by Potbelly

Arriving at Frogmore car park it was obvious that it was a St Patrick’s Day run as we were greeted by a convincing leprechaun bearing a striking resemblance to Sniffer, a green gnome not unlike Hornby and a number of people in green.
Whingeing-Pom gave the briefing with occasional prompts from Bronyon, laid in sawdust, ensure gates not left open and respect sheep and lambs.
An early long short split saw the longs heading for sodden fields and when crossing a road encountered London hashers Cocaine Charlie and C**k Doctor, who had gone to the wrong National Trust car park, in their car but being young and fit soon joined us just before the locally know Kiss my a**e steps, a steep stone style into fields. The trail continued through paddy fields with huge climbs, some on steps on coast path, grass and a steep downhill in woods where Trug decided to roll in the mud.
After a good hour we reached a car park where we were treated to a beer stop, Guinness shandy, courtesy of Er Indoors and Mamma Mia. St Patrick’s Day cakes, Guinness and chocolate apparently were also on offer thanks the beermats for their efforts its much appreciated.
Mamma Mia was also sporting a four leafed clover a lucky charm, Scarlet Moggy sent me an extract about this:
It’s a Celtic charm used in ancient times against evil spirits, each leaf symbolises faith, hope, love and luck. It powers me to the top of the hill.
I wish I had one.
A short trail back to to the cars after an hour and a half the shorts I am told in exactly the hour.
Back at the Pelynt Social Club Invisable Man back from his travels presided, giving way to Hide and Seek who warned us about next week’s hash suggesting wellies may be more appropriate than trainers, before awarding down downs to the hares Whingeing-Pom and Bronyon, thanks to them, Sun Dodger and Spin the Wheel for climbing gates not at the hinge end, Hornby for being unable to distinguish between an arrow and a cross, and for an impressive milestone The Bard 2150 runs.
The hash prat tee shirt was give to Easy Option who turned up one hour late for the run even though the clocks were not changing, impressive at best.
On a more serious note our most senior hasher Luv-a-Bull has been unwell and is currently in Liskeard hospital, we wish her well and hope for a speedy recovery.

Run 2476
Sunday 10th March 2024 at 11am
Venue: Tredudwell Manor Car Park, Lanteglos by Fowey. PL23 1NJ. SX155521 No dogs please
Hares: Kiss Me and Trug
On-Down: Pelynt Social Club, Pelynt PL13 2LG
Run 2476 report by Hornby

We were a select group on Sunday, with some away, some with Mothering Sunday commitments and some not well (get well soon Potbelly & Luvabull!) & no doubt some just not wanting to travel so far, as we met at Tredudwell Manor Car Park. There was some discussion about delaying as apparently there had been an accident blocking the direct route for those coming from Looe (one of the damaged cars could be seen with an AA van on the way back to Pelynt), although that was soon overruled when it was pointed out that we never delay for anyone else known to be coming late.

We soon set off and straightaway we were reminded that we were in the ‘yellow’ phase of spring with a host of primroses and celandines in the hedges, complementing the daffodils. There were even a few violets. The hares should be thanked for arranging quite a bit of the long trail on relatively well-maintained commercial woodland tracks, which kept our feet drier before returning to wet fields and some good shiggy later on.

They also managed to bring shorts and longs back together as we arrived at the treasure stop simultaneously. The shorts were very keen, as they rushed off again while the longs stopped and discussed the weather – this was as the sun came out and gave us a hint that perhaps spring really was on the way and we were in the change from March ‘coming in like a lion’ to ‘going out like a lamb’. This theme continued as we watched a deer prance across the fields and we could hear the skylarks in full flow. The last loop of the longs was cleverly laid so that the three of us left had to work hard to find the trail despite only seemingly being a couple of fields away from the shorts – a good 1 hr 45-minute run! Surely this would have been long enough for Eastern Promise & I’m Three, seen out on a presumed marathon training run earlier in the morning?

Down-downs were awarded to the hares Kiss Me & Trug, who had laid the long route in pouring rain on the Saturday afternoon, Rubberlegs for 950 runs, with misdemeanours for Sniffer (nibbling too much treasure) and Gasbag for describing Kiss Me’s Bond Girl top as dead rats. The hash prat T-shirt was due to go to B&M for getting lost within 100m of his own house last week, but he obviously had Mothering Sunday obligations, driving straight off northwards after the run. So Little Bo Peep, despite giving a fully informative medical justification, had to have it for her black eye. Thanks to a wide selection of prizes from the hares and the low turnout, just about everyone went away with a raffle prize.

Congratulations to Too Posh & Rubberlegs on their 53rd wedding anniversary and thanks for the excellent provision of cake, which was appreciated by all present.

Lots of hashers missing from today’s run (10th March). Potbelly is not well so we wish him a speedy recovery, and various others globetrotting including Eric Big Axe and Godmother, pictured here on the Interhash in Aukland.

Run 2475
Sunday 3rd March 2024 at 11am
Venue: Jim's Office, NFU Mutual, Oakland Mews, Liskeard Business Park PL14 3UX SX262648
Hares: Jaws and Hotbottom
On-Down: Liskeard Tavern, PL14 3FG
Can you please try and remove any mud from trainers before returning to the car park after the run in respect of the office workers coming in afterwards. Many thanks.
Run 2475 report by Potbelly

On a somewhat drier morning than last week’s run the group gathered at Liskeard Business Park for Jaws and Hot Bottom’s run. We were briefed by Jaws the main theme being traffic and any animals we may encounter would be likely to have wheels. There was to be a short short, a long short, and a long long.
The pack set off passing through previously unencountered housing estates, according to the Bard, and lanes around Liskeard. In the course of this a five pound note was seen in someone’s front garden and I’m Three detoured to recover it only to be relieved of it by Bronyon who returned it to the homeowner. In a slightly muddy lane the front of the pack having missed a check, the lane was blocked by an ankle deep puddle where Hide and Seek turned around determined to avoid getting wet feet before the false was found beyond the puddle.
Back at The Liskeard Tavern Sun Dodger once again stood in as RA awarding down downs to the hares Jaws and Hot Bottom, thanks to them, Whingeing-Pom for a magnificent 1950 runs and B&M for getting lost in his own backyard.
Wigan Whippet will be taking names of those who have booked hash camp next week so we have a rough idea of numbers.

Run 2474
Sunday 25th February 2024 at 11am
Venue: Fore St, Torpoint SX439552
Hares: Brillo
On-Down:The Carbeille Inn
Run 2474 report by Potbelly

What a strange group hashers are, anyone with any sense would have taken one look at the sky and returned to bed, but the faithful turned up for the hash hared by Brillo, Captain Oats and Gasbag in appalling conditions both wet and cold.
Captain Oats and Gasbag briefed us as Brillo had gone off to relay some of the trail, the trail was marked in chalk of 3 colours, the colour being of no significance, with a small amount of sawdust somewhere and a long short split at the start. Also the pub had been changed from The Kings to The Carbeille Inn.
The packs set off in different directions which was to become a theme demonstrated by the two very different trails posted by Hot Bottom and B&M neither of which bore any resemblance to the trail I sort of followed. Everyone arrived back at the cars soaked to the skin ready for the dry warmth of the pub.
As the RA is absent for 3 weeks Sun Dodger took over his duties giving down downs to the hares Brillo, Captain Oats and Gasbag, who kindly offered to supply raffle prizes and got roped in to becoming hares, thanks to them, and to Godmother who is of on her travels culminating in the Interhash New Zealand.
Just a reminder anyone wishing to dine on Easter Sunday at The London Inn St Neot let Little Bo Peep know.

Run 2473
Sunday 18th February 2024 at 11am
Venue: Trerule Farm, Trerulefoot PL12 5BL Parking at SX327 588
Hares: Sniffer, Get One Free and B&M
On-Down: Halfway House Polbathic PL11 3EY Pub will offer light snacks. They also offer a Sunday roast, fish and chips, and a hommity pie. Anyone wishing to have Sunday lunch would need to book in advance
Run 2473 report by Potbelly

Another good turnout as several people had returned from their foreign travels, tanned and raring to go, along with a few occasional hashers.
Instructions were given at the briefing by Sniffer,a long short split at the start, very slippery due to copious amounts of rain recently, careful crossing roads and run round the edge or in tram lines in planted fields, it was obvious later a couple of people had not been listening.
The longs started off crossing the Trerulefoot Polbathic Road into several vast fields before recrossing the road into more fields, woodlands and sodden tracks and returning to the cars after nearly one and a half hours and over 5 miles. The majority of the hash returned to the cars along the road after leaving the Bake Lake’s track I think the only one to follow the correct trail on the long was Artful Dodger who had the company of a hare.
If anyone on the shorts would like to comment on their hash please send your comments via run reports.
Back at the Halfway House the RA welcomed a visitor from Yorkshire, Psyco and awarded down downs to the hares Sniffer, B&M and Get One Free, thanks to them, Brillo for front running, Angus for a painful fall (see photo) and Hornby for forgetting his shorts and borrowing a pair of casual trousers to run in.

A warning from Paddington came in poetic form:

It’s Jim again, you might have known it.
His computer’s been hacked, they’ve completely blown it
Wide apart, all his latest emails
And who knows what other details!
So if you get emails asking for cash
It could be to anyone in the hash
It is not Jim asking for a bequest
So please ignore such a bogus request

Run 2472
Sunday 11th February 2024 at 11am
Venue: Clearing on Entrance to Higher Lodge & Coombe Farms over railway level crossing at bottom of Lodge Hill, Liskeard. SX242 627. Not much space – please share transport if possible.
Hares: Hornby & Sniffer
On-Down: Liskeard Bowling Club, Varley Lane. PL14 4AP. Please bring some food to eat and share.
Run 2472 report by Potbelly

There were 34 gathered at Sundays venue in spite of several people travelling abroad to avoid Hornby and Sniffer’s run, the numbers being increased by the visiting family of Paddington and Pantyhose and the return after quite some time of Easy Option.
The briefing, two long short splits one from the start and no stock to worry about.
Across the level crossing and along the road to the next crossing before embarking on waterlogged fields, rough cleared scrubland full of bramble loops to trip the unsuspecting and extremely muddy woodland track also strewn with brambles. It was in this mud I learned a new word courtesy of Scarlet Moggy informing me at least the mud was “unmanureal”.
Back at the Liskeard Bowling Club those who don’t carry cash had problems as there was a faulty card machine. A fine spread was laid on for the diners thanks to those who put it out and cleared up afterwards.
The RA took the stage welcoming the visitors and Easy Option and awarding down downs to the hares Hornby and Sniffer thanks to them, The Bard for “serial gating ” and Chipmonk.
On a personal note at this time I put down my beer which disappeared being removed by the RA who drunk about a third of it before returning to his seat, finding his own beer and returned my depleted beer to where he found it. Hashers beware !

On Easter Sunday the on down is the London Inn St Neot if anyone wishes to have a Sunday Dinner please let the hares Invisible Man and Little Bo Peep know so it can be booked.

Run 2471
Sunday 4th February 2024 at 11am
Venue: Tregrill, near Menheniot PL14 3PL SX283633 No dogs please.
Hares: Godmother and Biscuits
On-Down: Table Table, Liskeard PL14 3FG
Run 2471 report by Potbelly

Godmother welcomed us at Tregrill directing us to suitable parking places, perhaps a new career in traffic management awaits her.
A good attendance with Nosejob visiting and Brown Nose with Ketchup Kisses turning up, nice to see them.
The briefing warned us not to enter a small field with six rams in, not to go in where there are cattle and respect to sheep as they are close to lambing.
We set off with the first of two long short splits right at the start with Godmother shepherding the shorts and Biscuits the long. What followed was an arduous run through muddy fields and steep climbs so when Biscuits offered a short back to the cars near the end everyone but Hornby and Nosejob took up the offer. In spite of the shortcut, albeit almost vertical, it was still an hour and twenty five minutes but with the weather being kind again it was a very enjoyable outing.
The on down back at the Liskeard Tavern where they had allocated a section for us, it was good to see Foo Foo out and about following her enforced break. Rotton Cotton had his three penn’eth about kicking out prior to the RA doing his bit. Invisible Man reading from his notes was welcoming occasional hashers when he confused his noses mixing up Nosejob and Brown Nose, yet another senior moment. Down downs were awarded to Godmother and Biscuits for the run, thanks to them. As there were no milestones this week and too many fallers on the slippery fields to acknowledge with down downs the RA has requested that he needs more input from people to snitch on their friends.

Run 2470
Sunday 28th January 2024 at 11am
Venue: North Hill. The car park by the village hall PL15 7PA SX270767 No dogs please.
Hares: The Bard and Scarlett Moggie
On-Down: The Old School Inn, North Hill PL15 7PG SX273765 - opening at 11.30 for coffees.
Run 2470 report by Potbelly

They say the sun shines on the righteous, I don’t know which of us this applies to, but once again in spite of drizzle on the way to North Hill the weather remained clement for the duration of the hash.
It was good to see I’m Three and Eastern Promise after a gap hope to see more of them.
At the briefing The Bard warned us about a random wild bullock that had caused them to reroute to avoid it and not to visit Boris the bull in his field, see photo, and four long short splits.
The run took us through pleasant farmland with plenty of hills and soggy fields before a run in through a scenic stretch of woodland alongside the River Lynher taking us back to the car park after about an hour and a quarter.
As always there is someone who can’t resist the children’s play ground this occasion Spin The Wheel had to try the death slide.
The Old School House Inn was welcoming with a roaring fire at one end having opened especially for the hash, serving only organic ales straight from the barrel, its unusual not to see lit up pumps all along the bar, also they had also laid on soup and and filled rolls at reasonable prices.
Down downs were awarded to the hares The Bard and Scarlet Moggy, thanks to them, Gasbag for 650 runs and Luv a Bull for a magnificent 1100 runs.

Run 2469
Sunday 21st January 2024 at 11am **** Hash and Christmas Dinner
Venue: Horizon Farm, Bakers Hill, Tremar PL14 6EA SX257674
Hares: Mismanagement
On-Down: Horizon Farm
Run 2469 report by Potbelly

In spite of recent weather forecasts in was a dry if windy morning when we gathered at Horizon Farm for our annual Christmas Dinner.
The briefing explained on farmer who did not want us to use his driveway to access a footpath allowed us to use his fields but did not want us to put down any sawdust, an odd request, overcome by Godmother and Biscuits marshalling us through these fields.
The run took us through four farms and St Cleer Common with plenty of shaggy, uneven ground and multiple bramble roots waiting to trip the unsuspecting in the latter, the long arriving back after one and a half hours.
Horizon Farm was welcoming and there was plenty of time to use our drink vouchers before retiring to the dining room for the meal.
Down downs were awarded at this point given to The Mismanagement for laying the trail, Too Posh, living up to her name, starting out on the trail before realising she was still carrying her handbag, B&M for climbing a dodgy gate and his foot slipped so he came down heavily on his assets, Sun Dodger for checking and being gobby and Jaws for being a gentleman at gates, the second week running this has been mentioned the hash is getting polite.
The meal followed hopefully enjoyed by all.
The RA presided over the traditional Christmas raffle to end proceedings.
Thanks to all involved in the organising especially Wigan Whippet for negotiating a good deal and liaising with Horizon Farm.

Run 2468
Sunday 14th January 2024 at 11am
Venue: Tokenbury Corner SX280696
Hares: Rubber Legs, Too Posh, Shorty Pants and Carnage
On-Down: Red Lion, Liskeard
Run 2468 report by Potbelly

It was good to see Carnage at Tokenbury Corner for Sundays run after his short break having stepped up to help the hares laying the trail. We were briefed by Rubber Legs who had written a essay of information about the run to impart to the gathered multitude before we set off on Foredown expecting a run around Caradon Hill and the Moor, this soon altered when we crossed the road and headed into farmland.
We continued through lumpy fields and gateways full of shaggy ,the gates having been tied up with blue string provided by Shorty Pants for some reason. After a good deal of downhill the inevitable climb back to the car park after an hour and a quarter.
Back to Liskeard to the Red Lion, those who read the notice in the car park paid before going to the pub whereas those who thought it was free on Sunday had to return to feed the meter. The irony was when I arrived at the pub Mr Bloom pointed out that there is no parking restriction on Lower Lux Street on Sunday so we could have parked outside the pub for nothing.
Down downs were awarded to the hares, Rubberlegs, Too Posh, Shorty Pants and Carnage, thanks to them.
A magnificent milestone followed with BRONYON reaching 2000 runs congratulations to her, her first run was on 119.
Misdemeanours to Spin The Wheel for seeking relief on the trail, Hide and Seek for checking ? and Get one Free as the RA held a difficult gate open for her and she disappeared into the distance leaving him to struggle alone.
The RA then thanked everyone on behalf of Foo Foo for their flowers, cards and best wishes following her surgery.
A seemingly endless raffle ended the day.

Run 2467 report by Potbelly

It was a cold dry day when we gathered in Looe at the Millpool ice skating rink to meet with Truro H3 who had arrived by coach.
There were about 30 visitors and with 29 from L2H3, it was quite a gathering as Truro H3 made there announcements and rituals before B&M briefed us, emphasising do not run through fields planted with winter wheat, keep to the edge.
The pack set off, the longs along a narrow causeway, the shorts across the slippery car park. Continuing into Kilmanorth Woods a long short split sent the longs along tracks until reaching fallen trees blocking the way sending the trail into unkempt jungle before returning to the track. Godmother slipped and injured her leg seriously enough to require a hospital visit later, hope it heals soon and thanks to Hide n Seek, fulfilling her roll as hash bandage, for bandaging it at the beerstop.
After the beerstop, courtesy of Er Indoors and Mama Mia, thanks, the trail continued down an icy steep hill to more woodland tracks before arriving back at the cars/coach in just under 2 hours.
Back at the Ship Inn Truro H3 carried out there hash business first with 2RAs and their Hon Sec having there say before Invisible Man had his turn giving down downs to the hares B&M, Whingeing-Pom, Sniffer and Spin The Wheel. The RA then started to award a down down, I think to Hornby, but had a senior moment and lost the plot so he drunk it himself. Trug had the final down down for racing (or chasing?) at the end with Lady Killer, a young Truro hasher.
Foo Foo is now home recovering following her surgery.
